@ 82 False gods and their followers 2:165-167
2:165 And among the people are those who take to themselves rivals, other than Allah, loving them as Allah is loved. But those who believe are more loving to Allah. When the harm doers see, when they see the punishment because the power altogether belongs to Allah, and that Allah is firm in punishment,
# وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَن يَتَّخِذُ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ أَندَاداً يُحِبُّونَهُمْ كَحُبِّ اللَّهِ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا أَشَدُّ حُباًّ لِّلَّهِ وَلَوْ يَرَى الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا إِذْ يَرَوْنَ العَذَابَ أَنَّ القُوَّةَ لِلَّهِ جَمِيعاً وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ شَدِيدُ العَذَابِ 165
2:166 when those who were followed disown those who followed, and they see the punishment and relationships are broken off,
# إِذْ تَبَرَّأَ الَّذِينَ اتُّبِعُوا مِنَ الَّذِينَ اتَّبَعُوا وَرَأَوُا العَذَابَ وَتَقَطَّعَتْ بِهِمُ الأَسْبَابُ 166
2:167 those who followed them will say, 'If only that we might return once, and disown them as they have disowned us.' As such Allah will show them their own works to be regrets for them, and they shall never emerge from the Fire.
# وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ اتَّبَعُوا لَوْ أَنَّ لَنَا كَرَّةً فَنَتَبَرَّأَ مِنْهُمْ كَمَا تَبَرَّءُوا مِنَّا كَذَلِكَ يُرِيهِمُ اللَّهُ أَعْمَالَهُمْ حَسَرَاتٍ عَلَيْهِمْ وَمَا هُم بِخَارِجِينَ مِنَ النَّارِ 167
